CaF2 windows offer superior transmission in wavelengths from vacuum ultraviolet to infrared., they are often used to make windows with high transmittance in a wide rang of spectrum. CaF2 crystal are nonaxial, and they also offer greater resistance to humidity than other crystals.They are particularly useful for IR laser application.
